
Personal Biography
BriAnne Woodward was born and raised in Billings, Montana. Her musical prowess earned her membership in the Montana All-State Choir three times as well as membership in the All-Northwest Mixed Choir twice. She was selected as one of fifty students for the Oberlin Conservatory’s Vocal Academy for High School Students. Her love of music led her to Loyola University New Orleans to complete a Bachelor of Music Education (Vocal). She moved to Baltimore and completed her Master of Music in Voice at The Peabody Conservatory of The Johns Hopkins University. Her performance career is comprised of community plays, musicals, operas, recitals, and numerous engagements as a featured concert soloist around the country and world including Billings, Missoula, Spokane, Seattle, San Francisco, Bozeman, Italy, New Orleans, Indianapolis, Denver, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Santa Barbara, San Antonio, and Ireland.
In 2005, she moved to San Antonio with her husband and founded Woodward Voice Studios. She built a large, full-time private voice studio primarily serving students at area high schools. From 2005-09, she also sang as the soprano section leader and soloist for St. Thomas Episcopal Church as well as serving as the church’s middle school choir director from 2006-09. She began her classroom teaching career with the North East Independent School District as the assistant choral director at Churchill High School from 2007-08 before accepting the position of choral director for Driscoll Middle School from 2008-2015 and 2017-2021. As a frequent clinician and consultant for soloists, choirs, and teachers, she loves sharing her knowledge of singing with others while inspiring them to discover their potential through music.
During her career at Driscoll, Woodward served as Electives Department Team Leader in addition to her membership on the staff development, campus improvement, attendance, foundations, and technology committees. A member of Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Choral Directors Association, she has been a recording artist for the middle and high school region choir learning tracks as well as a clinician for local choirs preparing for local, state, and national contests. Her selection as a PTA lifetime membership recipient (2009), Texas PTA Outstanding Texas Educator Nominee (2012), ten-time NEISD Summa Cum Laude reception honoree, Driscoll Teacher of the Year nominee 2011, 2013, and 2019 affirm her devotion to students, families, and the education community.
BriAnne Woodward was honored as the Driscoll Middle School Campus Nominee for the 2018-19 Trinity Prize for Excellence in Education as well as the prestigious honor of being selected as the 2020 Secondary Education Finalist for the North East Independent School District’s Teacher of the Year. She is proud to be an award-winning vocal instructor who inspires people of all ages to discover their greatest potential through music in both individual and large group settings. Starting in Fall 2025, BriAnne begins an exciting new role as a Professor of Voice with Trinity University in San Antonio.
